REVEREND JAMES A. SHANLEY

Our Pastor, Father Shanley, returned to Our Lady of Pompeii Church in July 2003 after 23 rewarding years serving other parishes and St. Raphael’s Hospital in New Haven as Chaplain. Our Lady of Pompeii was Fr. Shanley’s first assignment as a newly ordained priest. We are glad he is back, offering his energy, sense of humor, and willingness to serve our Parish with eagerness.

One of his greatly respected attributes, “hard work”, is evident in all he does. From the annual carnival to the faith festivals, our parishioners are sure to see Father Shanley working diligently side-by-side with parishioners and staff, gladly giving his time and energy. One of Father Shanley’s most recent projects has been the restoring of the inside of our church to its former beauty. Asbestos was removed in the church and hall, walls painted, floors replaced and pews refinished. Our Lady of Pompeii is now truly a beautiful place to worship, reflect, and offer your time, talents, and treasure. We look forward to many more years of growth, laughter, and love of Jesus Christ with Father Shanley.
